LX Mason returns with the dream-like pop single βScared to Let Goβ. MoggBlog favourite for bending the rules of dance-pop and completely doing his own thing, the electronic grooves in the new single just may be our favourite to date. After a successful number of years developing his craft, 2020 is destined to be LX Masonβs year. The first single since his release with Valencia James in October, Scared to Let Go is honest and up close. Marking a fresh, polished sound for LX, he provides a slow electro-pop ballad with an 80βs inspired guitar melody. Produced by Harrison Wood and guitar work from Nigel Hendroff, LX has a strong team behind him on this track.
LX mentioned this on the track: “Whenever you say goodbye to a beloved friend they always tell you “dont say goodbye, it’s a ‘see you later” but what if you’re not sure you’ll see them again? What if this is the last time you’ll see them but because of blind hope you never actually got the closure a goodbye could bring? This song explores that for me.β
Showcasing his versatility in the pop world, the different elements in this track portrays a diverse nature for the songwriter. Itβs a number that makes you think, whereβs he going to take us next? Taking us firmly into another world in this single, Scared to Let Go is cinematic.
