Sudanese-Scottish artist Eliza Shaddad returns with unforgettable new album ‘The Woman You Want’. Out now via Rosemundy Records, the album gives firm nudges towards nineties icons such as Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morissette and PJ Harvey. Mixed by Grammy Award winner Sam Okell (Pj Harvey, Celeste, Graham Coxon), and mastered by Tim Rowkins (Rina Sawayama) the album also features Michael Jablonka (Michael Kiwanuka) on guitar.
“The Woman You Want is a record of me figuring myself out” Shaddad explains. “I’d been wrestling with the idea of wanting to be a better human, a better woman, a better wife, better friend, better daughter… and not really feeling capable of it… and the so the title, and title song, came out as a direct challenge really, to me, and to the listener.
Something for everyone buried within each track, it’s no surprise that the album has received high praise from the likes of The Independent, Sky News, The Sunday Times, NOTION and CLASH Magazine to name a few. Beautifully original and an artist that deserves global fame, Eliza Shaddad radiates talent.
