DMS – Games We Play

Edinburgh quintet DMS release soulful new single, ‘Games We Play’, and it’s the definition of an anthem. One of the only positives to come out of the past year, “Games We Play” is the first single from a series of releases that were recorded in various lockdown sessions. Recorded, mixed and mastered by Mark Morrow, “Games We Play” is prominently an indie-rock track with synthesisers thrown in for good measure.

As the band put it, “This is probably the closest we’ll ever come to writing a ‘love’ song but as usual the definition has become a bit warped. It highlights the importance of trust in a relationship and how lots of people take it for granted until it’s too late. Our protagonist is only interested in the eventual outcome of ‘the game’ regardless of how many other relationships are destroyed in the process. We reckon most people can relate to either being involved in situations like these or knows someone that’s been through it”.

A diverse number that will have you weak at the knees, “Games We Play” sounds like the lovechild of Chris Cornell and Pink Floyd, which could never be a bad thing.
