Shoegaze quintet Palma Louca release ethereal new single ‘Stationary Life’. A bewitching single that’s bathed in elegant textures that will leave you wanting more, ‘Stationary Life’ gives insight into, what feels like, a bright future for Palma Louca, once ‘normal life’ resumes. Already gaining support from sites across the web, and signed to Newcastle based label Pillar Artists, the quintet are a promising act securing that Newcastle Upon Tyne’s music scene is out of this world.
Joe (singer & guitarist) discusses the lyricism behind the song, “[Stationary Life] was inspired as a general comment on the way our society is constructed; the title of the song alludes to a lack of meaning in many peoples’ day-to-day lives that stems from the way modern society operates. This theme is reflected through the songwriting, as the narrative isn’t overly focused – instead being more relaxed and loose – structurally speaking. In this way, the first verse addresses the listener directly whilst the second verse highlights some examples of superficial ideals.”
“Stationary Life” may have only been released a week ago today, but it’s certainly turning heads. Sitting comfortably over the 1,600 mark on Spotify, stream, buy and support this single, you won’t be disappointed.
