Indie icon Hongza is back with sophomore single ‘Dream Sleep Eat‘ – and it’s the definition of a shoegaze infused masterpiece. Taken from the forthcoming EP ‘Gen Z’, out next month, the upcoming EP details the highs and lows of maintaining an online persona, as after all, Hongza’s influencer lifestyle is inspiring.

Speaking about “Dream Sleep Eat”, Hongza states, ”I wrote this song at a point in my life where I was dating a lot & using dating apps a lot. At the time I never made the jump into relationships because I had this app on my phone with an endless sea of people I could meet with the potential of them ‘being the one’. I’d date, get to know someone, not find that spark between us, feel guilty for upsetting them, get depressed from not finding the one & do it all over again. I guess the song is about the cycle of online dating.”

The trials and tribulations of dating in the 21st century is tough, and Hongza clearly states this throughout the new track. With couples comparing themselves to other couples that are on completely different paths, ‘Dream Sleep Eat’ details the superficial encounters on datings apps.
