Morgan Hamilton-Jones aka Mog Jones releases glistening, debut single ‘Only Way Out‘, taken from her forthcoming album. Firstly, I had to feature Mog, it was written in the stars that our names would find each other! The Cornwall based songwriter draws influence from the likes of The Beatles, Dolly Parton and Stevie Nicks, and has even opened for artists such as Albert Lee & Leo Sayer.
On her debut single, Mog mentioned, “‘Only Way Out’ is about a thirst for change and needing more from the world, I think it’s something that all people feel at some point in their lives. We all wish for change, and all have so much hope for the better and this song is about exactly that, jumping into the unknown and not knowing what will happen but knowing it’s better than what you’ve got.”
‘Only Way Out’ is a country rock contender fuelled with reverb and a sleazy nature. Showcasing one powerful voice, the latest release from Mog Jones reminds me subtly of ‘These Boots Are Made For Walkin’ by Nancy Sinatra. Bathed in Mog’s originality, this is one lady to keep a watchful eye on.
