Only August – The Rain (Review)

Only August connects with his surroundings and creates a personal experience  throughout his music. Currently in the studio finishing up his debut album with Kyle Ashbourne (Sugar Shack Studios), the LP is due for release in summer of this year. Here with his debut single “The Rain”, the warming track features themes of love and growth.

“The Rain” describes the ups and downs, and the simple care required to sustain a relationship. Using metaphors to explain the story, ‘The Rain’ nudges a strong metaphor of how a plant needs rain to drink, sunshine to grow, as well as shade and space, just like a relationship. Co-written with his wife, the partnership sounds strong and showcases that it’s always important to be honest with your feelings.

On the track, Only August mentioned; “The Rain” features the line “they say the grass is always greener, but I can’t be sure,” meaning that you may never be satisfied until you find this out for yourself, through lived experience.
