edbl ft Kofi Stone – I’ll Wait (Review)

London-based R&B/Hip-Hop produced edbl returned back in October with the infectious “I’ll Wait” featuring Kofi Stone. Following the success of his first three singles which gained support from BBC Introducing London, Amazing Radio and extra, the artist has collected over 200k streams over streaming sites. As the final single from his debut EP, the fourth single from the artist features element of neo-soul varnished with soulful funk. With a mirrored effect of Tom Misch’s iconic sound, edbl is bringing something completely different to the table.

Including one of the most contagious choruses of the year, the verses secure a wonderful rhythm. Laid back with a head bopping beat, the track tells the tale of looking back on a relationship and what could have been. Holding the ‘what if?’ scenario over our heads, the chilled vibe that the track portrays feels calming and keeps you present. Whereas it may feature looking back on the past and what could have been done before, the track informs listeners to stay true to themselves and be their own best version. An iconic single from edbl and Kofi Stone that fuses a wide spectrum of influences.
