Sätilä – Like You Do (Review)

Finnish born, London based artist Sätilä combines a fresh amount of infectious alternative-indie music with rich pop soundscapes. Having started writing songs at the tender age of only 7, Sätilä spent his formative years in an alternative rock band before moving to Sydney, Australia where he studied songwriting. After years of finding his feet in the industry, the solo artists returns with leading single “Like You Do”. Emulating fragments of Foster the People and Tame Impala, the use of analogue synths in the mis illustrates Sätilä of blending electronic and organic sounds together.

“I hope my music inspires people to live their life to the fullest. Make the change you need to make whether that’s circumstance or your attitude. Make the dream a reality. Love yourself and others. Make every situation better when you come around”.

‘Like You Do’ narrates the struggles of receiving love from someone who you think is more trusting than you are. Inspired by past relationships, it’s Sätilä’s velvet vocals that comfort the tracks insecurity. Finding itself buried within twinkling synths, pulsating basslines and vibrant melodies, the transcending number compliments an indie-esque aura with a pop structure. Transforming its way through with an ultimate pep talk, the self-love anthem defines Sätilä and his progress not only in music but as a human.
