Beth Keeping – San Francisco (Review)

London based Beth Keeping channels her inner ‘Taylor Swift meets Haim’ in the contagious “San Francisco”. Citing traditional country and modern pop as her key influential sound, Beth is a true storyteller who sticks to her goal. Speaking about real situations in her music, the honest lyrical approach in her songs are breathtaking. Beth is also a founder of ‘Write Like a Girl’, a project that puts the spotlight back on female songwriters and champions the rights of equality in the music industry.

“San Francisco” narrates letting go of a person or even a moment and illustrates the feeling of what could have been. Written after a five week backpacking trip across South East Asia, Beth found herself connecting with someone from San Francisco. Left thinking “I’ll probably never see you again, but if i returned, would you care?”, the emotions are pored out through the number with Beth’s genuine heartfelt songwriting. A delicate soundscape of infectious melodies that guide us through a dark thought.
