Owen Denvir – Ghost (Review)

Belfast born Owen Denvir has become one of the finest singer songwriters to emerge in a long time. Having supported Dodie, had music shared by Coldplay and over 100,000 streams on Spotify, the latest single “Ghost” is Owen showcasing his full presence. Owen is set to release a trilogy of EP’s over the next year, each with a different theme and story. “Ghost” is the first single from the first EP (Sticks).

Written by Owen as a vent for anxieties that came after dealing with a ‘ghosting’ situation on dating app Tinder. There has also been a statement that Owen and his family actually had a paranormal sighting that helped write the full story, but leaving the listeners to believe this is true grabs you in further. Vibrant and full of spirit, there’s nothing sinister about this golden pop number. Including a smooth chord progression lead by the piano, Owen vocals bounce off the instrumentation naturally. A warming number, can’t wait for more releases!

Score: 3.5/5
