I See Rivers – Collide (Review)

I See Rivers not only are renowned for their luscious harmonies but for their overall distinctive sound too. With a comfortable discography behind them filled with two EPs and a string of singles, the Nordic trio are in the process of developing their highly anticipated debut album due for an independent release in Spring 2020 with the support of PRS Foundation, BBC Launchpad and their fans over on Kickstarter. Returning with their latest single “Collide”, the three piece have gained support from the BBC and media outlets.

Contemporary but playing an adventurous approach to normal, “Collide” focus more on creating a spacious arrangement while using a combination of acoustic sounds and synthesised elements. Capturing their folk roots, the new number introduces more electronic features and includes infectious rhythms from the vocals and drum loops. Lyrically, it tells the story of conflict but reconciliation as well. Turbulence in a relationship and transparency, the relatable lyrics are emotive and leave a highly memorable impact on any listener. A fascinating number that soars with it’s pure talent.
