There’s no hiding from the fact that Mog Jones’ debut album ‘On The Run’ is a masterpiece. Many years in the making, ‘On The Run’ first began when Mog started out at the age of 16. Based in Cornwall and best described as a multi-talented singer-songwriter, ‘On The Run’ features 8 tracks of personality driven country rock and roll – but with a twist of indie thrown in for good measure. Produced by Steph-Hamilton Jones, the debut album was released 2 days ago, and is already making waves across the globe.
On her debut album, Mog Jones states, “On The Run’ to me is a two fingers kind of album to everyone or everything that’s ever attempted to put me in my box, I’ve never been great at being told what to do and this is kind of my way of showing that. There are different genres on the album, everything from brit pop, to glam rock, country and folk and that is one of the main things I love about it, that it sort of lets all my influences shine through, which will really help people to get to know me. I think that on this album to a degree there is something for everyone somewhere on there, it definitely has a real throwback vibe in places. I could easily name a hundred artists who have inspired this album, but I think that all of those blended together has created something that is uniquely me.”
Driven by personal stories, “On The Run” features addictive melodies, incredible vocals and spine-tingling instrumentation throughout. A fierce release that will go down in Mog’s history, this up and coming artist is certainly someone to keep your eye out for when she’s around your neck of the woods.
