Here’s an exceptional single from Benedict for your Tuesday evening. A shoegaze meets alternative pop single that captures a cinematic sound with ease, ‘Leave a Light On’ is the latest release from Amsterdam based artist Benedict.
On the new release, Benedict mentions, “the song tells the story of a man waking up next to his ex girlfriend on a Saturday morning. They don’t and won’t come out of bed because they don’t have to. Besides that – as long as they stay in bed, everything is perfect. Knowing he fucked up quite a few times now he finally sees 1. she’s always right and 2. he feels safe around her. Of course it’s all too late now.”
Armed with a breathtaking vocal that will find it’s way into your heart, Benedict’s soothing music escapes the somber world news and lets fans into, what feels like, paradise. For fans of The Slow Show, Moss, Nick Cave and The National, Benedict may nudge certain influences within his music, but mainly comes across as innovative and unique.
