The first release in a string of 6, ‘Slide‘ is the debut single from indie dream project Volleyball. Released at the end of October during one of the toughest years the world has ever had to go through, ‘Slide’ glides through a psychedelic realm of character. A track that touches lyrically on the current era of maleficent media and future uncertainties, ‘Slide’ is optimistic yet fearful. Armed with energy yet providing a soundscape of chilled vibes, Volleyball are a quintet specialising in creating music without rules.
On the release, Volleyball said, “The writing process began at the end of summer ’19 in a forest hut; we set up a temporary studio and started writing. The feel and character of that initial output radiated through into six, no complete tracks, which fed back into the sonic and visual identity of the project.”
With over 70,000 streams on Spotify since it’s release in October, it’s no wonder this track is getting the recognition it deserves.
