Released today, Ryan Sparrow returns with indie infused EP ‘Changes‘. Working alongside his guitarist Marc Bradley (M A R C), the duo co-wrote, co-engineered and co-mixed together. Drawing influence from Ryan Adams, Fleetwood Mac and John Mayer, ‘Changes’ showcases an artist that’s evolved with maturity. Created in Ryan’s bedroom, Ryan takes a big lead forward in his songwriting and believes to be his ‘best music yet’.
On the release, Ryan Sparrow stated, “I went into making this EP with a very different perspective. I’ve never really tackled my own problems and thoughts heads on with music but this time around that’s all I focused on. It was nice to come into it from an introspective stand point and hope that some people can relate to the songs in their own way, which is ultimately the power of a music.”
Hearing Ryan’s tracks with a fierce indie rock element highlights a diverse songwriter with room to always evolve. Tracks such as ‘I Hope To See You There‘ is an indie rock anthem with brit-pop fragrances and an ear-worm chorus, whereas second track ‘London‘ illustrates Ryan’s roots. A breathtaking indie-folk number with personality. Next is a personal favourite, ‘For You‘ mixes Ryan’s new sound with his individuality.
‘Tonight‘ has a true Jeff Buckley vibe to it’s core. A track with vulnerability, the single grows into a haunting escapism. EP closer ‘Seams‘ is simply bewitching. A single that you can get lost in for hours, the whole EP takes Ryan’s music up to a whole other level.
