Manchester based artist and producer Szou uses elements of euphoric pop with ambient electronica to create her unique sound. Marking her second release with self-produced ‘Dystopia’, Szou is influenced by the likes of empowering females Sigrid and Christine and the Queens. Mentored by Elizabeth Parker of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Szou created the stunning new single to explore the comparison between the current world’s pandemic and sci-fi.
Mixed by Ellie Dixon and mastered by Shaun Taylor, ‘Dystopia’ ventures into the unknown with guidance from Szou’s contemporary vocals. It’s no wonder this artist is being championed by the BBC, Szou’s Dystopia is a captivating track, using nostalgic synths and contagious basslines to tell it’s story.
Coming at a time when things are uneasy, this track feels like a blessing.
