Restless Youth – Man on Call Lane: You’re Not Alone Pt 2 (Review)

Previously featured MoggBlog act Restless Youth have grown into a youthful, unique outfit aiming to tell meaningful stories of modern day life. Released back in May, ‘Man On Call Lane: You’re Not Alone Pt 2” is an upbeat mix of jazz-hop, neo soul, folk and afrobeat. Drawing influences from The Streets, Robert Glasper Experiment, Dizraeli, Afro-Celt Sound System, the single channels spoken word mixed with an infectious amount of neo soul.

Restless Youth had this to say on the single, ‘Musically, it’s a spicy, groovy, catchy tune; utilising a diverse array of styles, to tell a story that takes place on Call Lane in Leeds.’

Creating modern folk, the mesmerising female vocals strive with guidance through the warming number. Part of a series of 5 singles, ‘You’re Not Alone’ is a project telling 5 stories in 5 styles, anchored in human connection. Filled with vibrance and killer grooves, the exotic number needs to be on your playlist.
