Darla Jade returns with ethereal single “Overcrowded”. Singing over a beautifully crafted production by Mark Smith, the vulnerable number tells a story of when alone, still feeling overcrowded. Based in Stoke-on-Trent, 2019 was an exciting year for Darla, as she wrote an albums worth of material in Thailand and toured Germany with The Dark Tenor. Continuing to strive in 2020, she’s upping the momentum this year and illuminates the importance of speaking out of mental health.
Enchanting with it’s intimate presence, the isolated number feels honest and somewhat comforting that it’s ok to not be ok. As the first single of Darla’s that I’ve heard, it certainly won’t the last. Passionate and elegant, this track needs a silver screen and Darla has the essence to be a potential Bond theme writer one day.
