Layo – Homewrecker (Review)

Manchester based but born in Fraserburgh in Aberdeenshire, Layo is an electronic pop singer songwriter who is heavily influenced by The 1975, Billie Eilish and 80’s pop rock. Starting her career off in the best way possible, her debut single “Homewrecker” storms onto the scene and refuses to be ignored. Released on brand new record label/management company ‘Resilience’ on November 29th, the single tells the story about a boy in a band that Layo fell for, only to later find out he was already involved in a relationship.

Embracing her own originality through a colourful aura, there’s layers of influences in the track too. It’s like Imogen Heap met up with The 1975 and created the wonderful soundscape of Layo. Armed with adrenaline and a fun loving energy, the track is kickstarting Layo’s career higher and exceeds all expectations. A vibrant release from an artist that is destined for stardom.
