Miranda Joan – Happy to Have You (Review)

Born in Montréal, raised in Vancouver but now based in New York City, Miranda Joan blends a wide sense of cultures into her own style. Being brought up with a love for soul music and it’s many sub-genres, her sound is best described as floating around soul and pop. In the middle of releasing a string of releases, “Happy to Have You” fits in Miranda’s repetoire without any force. Following the success of her previous releases, we’ve watched Miranda evolve into this beautiful rose. Now with her latest release, the summer anthem will make you reminisce and let your mind wonder.

Celebrating female friendship, the track shows ounces of gratitude to the people that you love. It’s simply the anthem for your friends. Including a dance like production with modulation swirls intertwining throughout the mix, the soulful vocals stick to the track like honey. Miranda’s smokey vocal tone gives the track unlimited amounts of attitude and just pure sass. Empowering with it’s upbeat nature, the track’s influence comes from artists such as Macy Gray, Carole King and Stevie Wonder. Giving females all around the world confidence and someone to look up too, Miranda’s unstoppable and a great role model for females all around the globe.
