Glossii – Watching Me (Review)

Formed in 2017 by Charlie Lock (bass) and Lewis Smith (guitar), along came Sofia Zanghirella (vocals) and Reuben Rost (drums) to create Glossii. Having found success from performing at Camden Rocks Festival, supporting HMLTD, the quartet have gained support from names such as NME, BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio. Defining a sound that can only be described as post-punk Wolf Alice, they drown in an attitude of pure honesty and originality.

Aggressive and still holding onto the modern day indie sound, the post-punk “Watching Me” refuses to be ignored. Vocally, the melody that Sofia portrays is memorable and cements itself into your head. As the first song the band ever wrote, it was the first track that the band found themselves writing music in a heavier style. At the beginning, they wrote more chilled out segments, but finding their feet in the grit filled punk world, they blossom. Female fronted and proud members of the LGBTQ+ scene, Glossii are one’s to watch and your gaze won’t be leaving their sight.
