Interview with Snapdibz

Independent American born, Indian rapper SnapDibz starts the new year off in the best way possible – announcing his latest release ‘On My Mind’, and it’s seriously a track you don’t want to miss. After years of creating underground music with DJ Dibz, Snap continued to create music while DJ Dibz backed out. Keeping the SnapDibz name, his first professionally produced EP “Levels,” was released in 2020 and the EP introduced SnapDibz to the world.

Introduce yourself

Independent first generation American born Indian artist.

What made you decide that music is the right path. #5 Do you prefer live or recording

I’ve always enjoyed music and creating sounds. I remember in high school I picked up my brother’s black electric guitar and I taught myself how to read tabs from the internet and then taught myself how to play. I’m creating music while working in my other career as well. This makes touring a little more difficulty secondary to the time commitment of work. I like creating the music in the studio and releasing it into the world as I’ve definitely obtained some fans! One day, if the music side grew, I’d like to possibly do more shows.

Who are your main musical influences and why?

I feel I have many influences. I’ve listened to many genres over the years. Metallica was a big part of my early music as I loved the guitar riffs and they were a huge part of why I picked up the guitar in the first place. I listened to a lot of alternative and grunge in the 90s and then more hip-hop into college. The biggest influence back then was Outkast being raised outside of Altanta. I got to see Outkast perform outside my dorm room in college which was amazing! I also like Eminem, Ed Sheeran, Cold Play and many others.

What’s in store for you for the rest of the year?

For the rest of the year, I’ll continue to make releases as Rey and I hopefully complete our collaboration project. I also have a few more songs on my own as well as a small tribute to my kids so look out for those! More songs and music to come!

Tell MoggBlog viewers about your latest release? What’s the inspiration behind that?

The newest track “On My Mind” feat Rey discusses how people have different wants and desires. Happiness is different for different people. Rey states, “I’ve been chasing the silver and gold . . . and no matter how far I go . . . it’s on my mind, on my mind,” how many of us are chasing money. Snap mentions,” Some just wanna lay low, sitting alone in a hole . . . while some just wanna chase gold, want a big house with a boat, want to be noticed, snapping their photos, posing in designer clothes,” portraying how the image of being rich is something others chase. The vibe is a little dark yet chill while the production is top notch. The animated music video quickly draws your attention with its graphics and chaos, representing internal mental struggle and confusion. I hope you enjoyed it!
