Introduce yourself (yourselves) and your hidden talent!
Hello im Domo Wilson and what people dont know is i engineer all of my own music.
What made you decide that music is the right path for you?
Knowing that when im in a dark place, music (besides my son) is the only thing that can get me out of it.
What’s your writing process like? Do you write the music or lyrics first?
When I go through life, i sit down and write about it. 99% of my songs i write are all life experiences.
Do you prefer performing live or recording, and why?
Recording, my nerves are bad lol. But im sure with a glass of wine before a show ill be fine.
Who are your main musical influences and why?
Willow and Jaden Smith. To see the representation and people who look like me is everything. Singing the genre i love as well. I love them!
If you could change about the music industry, what would it be?
Dont bench people. Ive seen great artist be benched just because someone “greater” has come along. Let people create art.
What would be your dream support gig? Bonus points for place/venue.
The Troubadour in West Hollywood. Some of the greats have performed there. Id lose my entire mind!
If you could collaborate with anyone dead or alive, who would it be?
Besides the artist ive named above, id say Drake, Yung Blud, MGK or Lil Nas X.
What’s the best advice you’d give to your younger self?
TAKE YOUR TIME. HAVE PATIENCE. STOP COMPARING YOURSELF. Comparison is the thief of joy!
