The musical duo you didn’t know you needed until now, ESHKA are composed of Midlands based artists Jess Webberley (aka Graywave) and Richard Wilson (EGO DIVE). Formed in 2020, the two-piece began writing from their separate homes and exchanging song ideas online. Progressing into something quite special, ESHKA storm onto the scene with their breathtaking dream-pop first single ‘Dream Cloud’. Released Friday 23rd July, ‘Dream Cloud’ draws inspiration from the likes of Massive Attack, Portishead and Deftones.
Taken from their forthcoming EP, the bass-driven number is armed with glistening guitar melodies and a gorgeous harmony wall. Speaking about the release, ESHKA share, “the song isa bout escaping the hum-drum day to day life, and entering the dreamworld. It’s about letting go of the pressures of modern life and simply existing. The whole song is supposed to feel like a dream, with the ending almost being a wake up call“.
Definitely one of my favourite releases of July – what a fantastic debut.
