American artist Saint Wade returns with addictive new alt-pop meets hip-hop track ‘Hate Me’. In this interview, we talk about how the internet has impacted the music industry, the best advice Saint would give to his younger self and preference on performing live or recording.
To anyone new to your music, name 3 words that best describe your sound.
Energetic, emotional, sporadic
What made you decide that music is the right path for you?
My subconscious decided when every job every other thing I tried my body was filled with no motivation thus ended up me getting fired or just quitting music is the only thing that has stuck for me.
Do you prefer performing live or recording, and why?
I enjoy both! I used to be in thespians and high school and originally I wanted to be on Broadway but something about having to tell someone else’s story bothered me so I started writing songs and here we are.
What’s the best advice you’d give to your younger self?
That you have time and the world will change to keep up with you. Don’t be in such a rush to grow up.
How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?
I feel like the internet has empowered a lot of artists we can literally set up our own brand now without labels and it used to never be like that. I think it’s a beautiful thing.
