The Dead Night release tasty new single ‘Caramel‘, and of course, I had to review it on Easter Sunday! Glasgow based and armed with personality, The Dead Night are a garage-pop trio who have been compared to the likes of The Jesus and Mary Chain, Jack White and The Cure. A strong debut that refuses to be swept aside, ‘Caramel’ is a sweet number bathed in sass.
Detailing the relatable story about the things we know that are bad for us, but we can’t help ourselves and are drawn to them. As frontman Aidan Buhrmann puts it “Whether it’s a toxic relationship, behaviour or other addictions, everyone has these moments when we give into temptations”.
Racking up over 4,000 streams on Spotify alone since it’s release at the end of February, the track was recorded at NCL Studios by Alek McMillan and Hayley Grogan. Fast paced and comes across slightly grunge-infused in parts, this track feels like its been transported from the 90s yet still feel refreshing. Taste “Caramel” and I’m sure you’ll be stuffing your face daily with this delicious number!
