Uncle Buzzard return with brand new offering ‘Little Fish’ via Monomyth Records. Based in Leeds, this quintet reside in a hazy indie-pop atmosphere with subtle fragrances of dream-pop and psych in the mix too.
On the release, George Mansun of the band stated, “Little Fish is about not living up to the expectations we set ourselves, or those set by others. The song is about identity and about the labels and the expectations that are externally put upon us, addressing issues surrounding gender and sexuality. When these things are ambiguous to us,but we are categorised by others, we feel pressure to conform to those labels, and it’s about that constant feeling of pressure that we must overcome to truly be ourselves”.
Uncle Buzzard use complex rhythms and unique instrumentation to illuminate ‘Little Fish’ in it’s best light. One of the best track’s you’ll hear this week, Uncle Buzzard are an emerging band with a distinctive future ahead.
