Temperature Falls – Don’t Think I’m Shallow

Norway based trip-hop outfit Temperature Falls unveil their fourth single of the year, ‘Don’t Think I’m Shallow’. Drawing influences from the likes of Björk, Portishead and Pearl Jam, their unique sound will be one of, if not the most original sound you’ll hear this month. Comprising of vocalist and songwriter Camilla, and multi-instrumentalist Ian J. Ward, their experimental sound dives through levels of relatable language. As the first single to be released before the launch of their second album, ‘Don’t Think I’m Shallow’ channels sounds of trip-hop with subtle alternative rock sensibilities. While the track has a uplifting energy with it’s infectious beats, the lyrics unleash a sort of deeper meaning. Telling the story of longing for something different and constant excitement, the track details letting your happiness take control of the steering wheel.
Slightly progressive with it’s industrial like drums, Temperature Falls are innovative and use a strong sense of euphoria into their music with open arms. ‘Don’t Think I’m Shallow’ walks down a road with it’s head held high, entering different worlds of genres, creating this hypnotic universe of magic. With not many years under their belt as an outfit, their connection within their sound is layered with enthusiasm of what’s to come. What makes the new single special from all the rest is that, you can put your own twist on the meaning. It can feel relatable if you’re going through a tough break up, but it can also feel familiar with longing for something else. An exceptional new single from the diverse Oslo based duo.
