The Mowgli’s – Fighting With Yourself (Review)

If you’ve heard of The Mowgli’s, you’ll know about their journey to the top. If you haven’t heard of The Mowgli’s, where have you been for the past 7 years? Beginning as a 10+ crew, the band are now quintet and have evolved from playing midnight warehouse parties to the stages of the largest festivals. With previous releases securing international success, The Mowgli’s first major-label LP Waiting For The Dawn sky rocketed the band to the stars and even secured them performances on The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live and Conan. Now preparing for a co-headline with New Poltiics and Plain White T’s as well as a UK club tour, The Mowgli’s are firing out hits after hits. Entitled “Fighting With Yourself” is a new direction for the band.

Reflecting on the past, and being honest about your failings, the positive filled number narrates accepting change and not fighting against the tide. Upbeat and holding onto your gaze, the track shines through with pop-punk influences. It’s the first time for Katie Jayne Earl to step into the limelight as the lead singer and she radiates a powerful attitude. An exceptional single from a band that should be on everyone’s playlist.
