la lune – holding onto u (Review)

Singer-songwriter and producer la lune currently resides in Brighton. After working on this project for three years, continuously gigging and releasing independently, la lune is gaining support form the likes of BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 6, NME, Earmark and Spotify to name a few. Released December 6th, la lune’s latest release ‘holding onto u’ was featured a couple of weeks back on Tom Robinson’s BBC Introducing Mixtape on Radio 6. Showcasing a range of different textures, ‘holding onto u’ leaves you trembling and wanting more from the songwriter.

Memorable, the electro-pop number includes a soulful voice that lingers with a beautiful timbre. la lune has one of those voices that feels note perfect without even trying. A stunning soundscape about the unsettling state of insecurities and is a shoutout to the supporters for security. Intense and feeling simply human, the electronic track is a vibrant take on reassurance. It’s a track that I would love to hear an acoustic version of… please la lune?

Score: 4/5
