Hypnotic Electronic #3

Two exceptional artists for you to get your ears around today. Both residing in a gorgeous electronic soundscape, these tunes will get you dancing around your room in no time.

THE OTHER COLORS / MARIE MÖÖR – NOUS NE SOMMES PAS AU MONDE

French electronica at its best, main songwriter Marie Möör’s sound is an exquisite blend of electronica and organic sounds to create an innovative listen. Quite experimental and music that will leave you thinking, this is the type of music that will grip you from the very first note and vocal. Marie’s poetic lyrics and ethereal vocals explore themes of connection, communion, and the search for meaning. Even if you can’t speak French, I feel that this song is relatable and something you can find yourself relating to. It will make you feel euphoric and ready for what’s next in your life.

Speaking about the release, Marie Möör shares: “To describe the two songs on our latest EP, “Nous ne sommes pas au monde”, we would say that they are love songs with expansive ambition, set in the context of a subjective story to reach the universal “forge” dimension.

Finding inspiration through the audio chaos of the contemporary world, “Nous Ne Sommes Pas Au Monde” sounds like something you’d either find in a science fiction movie soundtrack like Interstellar or maybe even something that keeps you on your toes like the BBC drama Killing Eve. I, for one, am a big fan of this soundscape and am excited for what’s next for this ensemble.

ILSANTINO – THE GIRL

Quick off the mark, Ilsantino’s new single “The Girl” shows that electronic music will always be gripping and the type of music to stick on when you need a boost. Honing his unique blend of retro music with electronic pop, there’s something for everyone within the release. The track feels like it could be loved in the synth-wave world with great ease. It’s an easy song to fall head over heels for. Picture this, you’re driving down the road on a gorgeous hot summer day when this song comes on the radio… the world feels good in that moment. That’s the vibe this track gives off from the very first note.

Speaking about the release, Islantino shares: “‘The Girl’ is a track that explores conflicting emotions. It finds the protagonist working hard to ignore a truth that is evident to others, but then pausing to reflect on the situation and, finally, figuring out what the right thing to do is! Is it written from personal experience?? Maybe!

Nolan reached out to LA-based producer Kid Moxie after hearing her collaboration with Depeche Mode on ‘Wagging Tongue’, their most recent single. He enquired whether she might be interested in working on a remix of ‘The Girl and she loved the track, and quickly agreed to put her own stamp on it. Kid Moxie has created a gorgeously upbeat and funky contemporary pop version of the track with loads of retro touches!
