Three exceptional artists for you to get your ears around today. All residing in a gorgeous indie soundscape, these tunes will leave you feeling euphoric for the rest of the week!
HANNAH ROBINSON – ROSIE
Three words. What A Production! The arrangement of this wonder is a real gem that I’m so thrilled to have discovered. Expanding across multiple genres to create one of the most innovative pieces of music I’ve heard in years, ‘Rosie’ is based around an alternative rock meets pop structure, but even features fragrances of shoegaze and indie for extra measure! A track about identity and living your best life in your own skin, this psychedelic adventure is fuelled with note-perfect vocals, warm guitar tones and one hell of a jiving bass line.
“Rosie is all about female empowerment. It’s about recognising your beauty and seeing yourself through the eyes of those who appreciate you the most. So many of us look in the mirror and don’t recognise ourselves when in reality we are beautiful the way we are! I wrote this song as a love letter to myself when I lacked confidence, affirming the thoughts “I am freedom, I am so appealing, I help people’s healing, when they need it” and the more I told myself it, the more I believed it. I wanted this song to embrace the feeling of being my authentic self!” shares Hannah.
“Rosie” is a truly remarkable discovery. Wow.

ABZ WINTER – JUDGEMENTAL
An artist that’s been on my radar for a number of years, Abz Winter just gets better and better with each release, if that’s even possible! “Judgemental” sounds like Olivia Rodrigo started having alternative rock and pop-punk lessons from Avril Lavigne. Relatable in every shape of form, this track bursts with attitude, something you need any day of the week to carry you through the rest of the day. Fuelled with stunning dynamics that continuously build the track to its peak, there’s a real sense of youth in this song that all ages would appreciate.
Abz said, “This track is to empower others to tell their toxic partner to get the hell out of their lives and at the same time have them passionately shouting to the song at the top of their lungs, maybe get some release from pent-up emotions with a bit of humour”.
Written about a toxic relationship, you can hear the lack of respect that Abz felt when writing it and we can all relate, sadly, in someway to this type of story in our lives at some point. This song is the perfect definition of turning a bad situation into something good. Abz, I think you’ve won this one.

BON FEU – STRANGE PLACE
The title track of one of the most innovative albums, ‘Strange Place’ feels like home. It’s a warm environment with layers of love and reassurance for listeners. There’s nothing strange about it. A chillout track that even mirrors trip-hop moments, Bon Feu’s latest release is primarily rock-based but shimmers in glorious indie imagery. Musically based around a groove, Bon Feu’s album has been two decades in the making.
“It may have been created over 20 years ago, but this album is still relevant and sounds so fresh. I loved this record then, and still love it now. I’ve only recently discovered the stories behind these songs, and now I understand why this melancholic pop music is fuelled with such genuine and powerful emotion. After all these years, I am so happy the record will finally see the light of day.” – Tim Palmer
Marcus shares: “Strange Place explores the complex world of life, exploring self worth, anxiety, frustration and social acceptance and coming to the conclusion that yes, we live in a strange place but we do our best to wake up each day and fight for what we believe in.”
Like something you’d hear in your favourite film soundtrack that’s set in the near future, this futuristic release is coated with distinctive, modulated guitar lines that will bury in your brain. If you don’t have ‘living in a strange place‘ chanting in your head on repeat after listening to this, you’re not listening enough!
The release is out Friday, 22nd September.
