Euan Blackman – You Are The Rain

Rising folk-pop artist Euan Blackman reveals innovative debut EP ‘You Are the Rain’, inspired by a lo-fi aesthetic throughout the mix. Euan wrote, recorded, produced, and mixed the EP entirely in his Liverpool bedroom studio, and was inspired by Bruce Springsteen’s ‘Nebraska’ when creating it. The release was then mastered by Jim Spencer (Johnny Marr, New Order, The Charlatans) at Eve Studios.

Euan’s sound is best described as the sort of soundtrack you stick on when you’re driving around the countryside with your favourite people in the car. There is something of the past in his music, not retrospect, but memories we all share, tales of the human condition in soft focus. He is regularly enchanted by the magic that defines the work of Phoebe Bridgers and Claude Debussy.

Whilst Euan is at the beginning of his blossoming career, his songwriting is truly blessed with a nostalgic essence. I remember the first time I heard Euan’s music and I was instantly enchanted with his soft songwriting.

I’m excited about whatever he does next.
