Emotionally charged and a gritting story, Bournemouth’s DD Allen’s latest creation is his finest to date. Fuelled with a troubadour style to the songwriting, there’s conflict yet passion in every single note. A stadium-built anthem that is octane fuelled and immediately demands your attention, the track is filled with singalong choruses that certainly could fill a stadium one day.
After lost shows and ill health took their toll during the career-stalling lockdown, Allen found inspiration and motivation in Huey Morgan’s book Rebel Heroes, hence the tracks name. The stories resonated deeply and ignited the ideas for a new body of work drenched in escapism and finding a way out through his craft.
Every performance is drenched in octane-fuelled escapism. Highly influenced by The War on Drugs and The Killers, DD holds a voice that cuts through the mainstream like a 60s Dylan tearing down Highway 63, you would hear and notice it instantaneously.
A truly breathtaking sound.
