Sam Thomas has been well cemented in the local music scene for a good few years now, from playing in metal, punk and indie bands, to solo acoustic guitar driven music he has been working hard for years. Having finally found his niche in the hip-hop world, he describes this current project as “the most enjoyable to date, I’m proud of the current work and super excited to see what’s to come.” Between working together on tracks and playing on the same live shows Sam Thomas has collaborated with hotly tipped North-East artists Kay Greyson, Eyeconic and Jack Fox but he’s now pushing forward to be the name on everybody’s lips.
To anyone new to your music, name 3 words that best describe your sound.
Passionate, honest , unpredictable.
Introduce yourself (yourselves) and your hidden talent!
My name is Sam Thomas.
Who are your main musical influences and why?
Honestly, my musical influences come from the artists in my local music scene. I listen and pay more attention to them than any other “Mainstream” artist.
What’s the best advice you’d give to your younger self?
Don’t be afraid to take risks and be different.
Tell MoggBlog viewers about your latest release! What’s the inspiration behind that?
My latest release is called, “No More” Its a blend of spoken word and rap with a big climatic ending to finish. As the intensity builds in the lyrical content so does the dynamic of the song and thats something Im very proud of. It’s about looking back at where you’ve come from, the mistakes you’ve made etc. and making a proclamation to yourself that you wont be made to feel like that again. Its about empowerment and taking back control.
