Cork singer-songwriter Sarah Buckley is back with brand new single ‘Full Moon’. The inspiring artist sat down with me to talk about musical influences, dream support slots and musical recommendations.
Do you prefer performing live or recording, and why?
Recording because I love the creative process and learn something each time I go through it.
Who are your main musical influences and why?
Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys) and Matt Berninger (The National) are people I come back to again and again. I love their lyricism and turns of phrase – lyrics and atmosphere created are my favorite parts of songs and songwriting at the moment.
What would be your dream support gig? Bonus points for place/venue.
I saw Leonard Cohen on his last tour in Dublin , it was one of my favorite gigs if I could go back in time and support him that would have be cool! The gig was released as an album ‘Live in Dublin’ so it’s great to be able to listen back.
If you could collaborate with anyone dead or alive, who would it be?
Producer Jack Antonoff (Lana Del Rey, Lorde, Taylor Swift).
Give our listeners some music recommendations that we should check out!
I have Adrianne Lenker solo stuff and also her band Big Thief on repeat at the moment.
