Interview with HASANI

Having recently released his iconic third single to date “All U Need“, I sat down and chatted with Maryland based artist Hasani to talk about why music is so important to him, musical influences and the message behind his latest single.

What made you decide that music is the right path for you?

I decided music was the right path for me because it gave the opportunity to channel my creativity in a way that was completely unique to my experience, via sound. I can make anything, I loveΒ that. Also my first song gained a lot of attention.

Who are your main musical influences and why?

My main influences are gospel artist like Kirk Franklin, Hezekiah Walker & Yolanda Adams. Outside of that I grew up on Lauryn Hill, Jay Z, Kayne West, Prince. A lot the artist that influence the landscape of music today are my favorites & main influences.

What’s the best advice you’d give to your younger self?

The best advice I could give myself when I was younger is to trust in myself, believe in my ideas, stay the course & embrace the failures & the successes because I’m gonna need them in pursuit of the life I want to live.

What’s in store for you for the rest of the year?

More music!!! I’m releasing an EP and then some this year, I’m excited to share what I’ve been working on.Β

Tell MoggBlog viewers about your latest release! What’s the inspiration behind that?

My latest song All U Need is my favorite song yet! I’m inspired by the power of love & I’ve been noticing how sometimes we give our power away by choosing to be in a relationship with someone else before fully exploring the relationship we have with ourselves
