Chloe Foy has been on my radar to check out for a very long time, and ‘Where Shall We Begin‘ is certainly a fantastic introduction. A highly anticipated debut from the songstress, this exceptional album deserves to be in everybody’s collection. Gaining high praise from the likes of Line of Best Fit, CLASH, Uncut, Folk Radio and Americana UK, ‘Where Shall We Begin’ is powerfully emotive and closes the chapter on a formative period for Chloe.,
“For me, this album has come out of a decade of hard graft, trying to balance my craft with making a living, whilst taking my time to get it right. All whilst dealing with the fallout of a huge bereavement in my most formative years. I was finding it hard to work out who I was within this new, alien context of losing a parent,” explains Foy.
Soothing and coming across as mature, Chloe Foy’s debut album couldn’t be compared to anything else. In a whole other league to the mainstream charts, this is a passionate offering of note-perfect vocals, complex songwriting and addictive melodies – what more could you possibly want?
Recorded at Pinhole Studios in Manchester with an army of musical collaborators, ‘Where Shall We Begin’ is definitely amongst my favourite albums of the year so far.
