Pop-punk duo GoodGrief return with vibrant new release, ‘Green Eyes’. Released at the end of April, the track was written during the course of the pandemic and hopes to bring positivity to listeners with its message. GoodGrief consist of Benji Yapp on vocal and guitar, and Damo Darby on bass, who were two former members of pop-punk outfit You Know The Drill.
Detailing his thoughts on the release, lead vocalist and songwriter Benji Yapp states, “Lyrically the song is all about just wanting to get away with your favourite loved one who many of us won’t have been able to spend much time with and just forget about the rest of the world and its many problems.”
Armed with a DIY style of video, the retro infused music video is comical and showcases GoodGrief’s distinctive personality. Adding his thoughts to the visuals, Benji explains, “For the video we really wanted to make something ourselves which we could really spend our time on and have some fun with, whilst also being in a national lockdown! So messing around with a green screen really seemed like a decent solution. It’s my first ever music video I directed / edited by myself, so I was basically learning on the job but I couldn’t be happier with the end product!”Â
A passionate number that will have you fantasising about leaving lockdown and travelling the world with your loved one, ‘Green Eyes’ is easily GoodGrief’s best track to date.
