Emma Mae – Boys in Bands

Storming back onto the scene with her first single of the year, Emma Mae’s new single ‘Boys in Bands‘ is a youthful, indie-pop anthem. Named after many of the 21-year-old’s not so romantic encounters, ‘Boys in Bands’ delivers Emma’s personal experience on the matter. Born in Leicester, now based in Cardiff, this singer-songwriter has already received support from BBC Introducing in the Midlands.

On the track, Emma Rae explains, β€œThis song and its materials aim to raise some awareness of the drastic impact the pandemic has had on the music scene in the UK, specifically in Cardiff. The β€˜boys in bands’ photoshoots, and album artwork were all shot on the empty Woman by Street, on the one-year anniversary of all of its popular venues closing due to the pandemic.

“Boys in Bands” is an adventurous indie-pop track to simply get lost in and forget any sort of worries you may be feeling today. Elaborating on real events, the track feels like Emma is closing a chapter and having a fresh start.
