Interview with Die Tired

To anyone new to your music, name 3 words that best describe your sound.

The sound of Die Tired is best described as a blend of alternative rock, grunge, and pop- punk. We are a multifaceted band, pulling inspiration from classic rock, heavy metal, pop punk, and just about anything else that we can play on a guitar!

Introduce yourself (yourselves) and your hidden talent!

Originally derived from the old Marines adage: “You can run, but you’ll just die tired,” one might assume that our music has ominous undertones and potentially dark themes. Well, to us, Die Tired is a punk rock way of saying, “Carpe diem!” Our hidden talent is being unafraid to take chances, we approach our music and the scene in a bold manner. Put it all on the table. Believe in your songs and show them to the world.

What’s your writing process like? Do you write the music or lyrics first?

Our writing process starts with music first, mainly a guitar riff, and then a groove for the verse. Lyrics are written and a chorus is typically the final piece. Many compare our sound to bands such as Thrice, Silverchair, and many other notable artists that have come before us in the alternative rock / grunge world.

Being from various parts of the hills and streets of Pennsylvania, we all bring our own specific flare and personality to the music. Each of us has a slightly different taste in music, but in one way or another, these influences blend perfectly to breathe new life into some amazingly addictive alternative and pop rock sounds.

What’s in store for you for the rest of the year?

The rest of the year finds us filling up our festival schedule along with bookings at regional venues. Fans can look forward to a new release in about 3-4 months. Gaining momentum, and connecting with our national and international fanbase is a goal that we continue to pursue relentlessly.

Tell MoggBlog viewers about your latest release! What’s the inspiration behind that?

With our latest release, we drop a powerful message about mental health and suicide prevention with BETTER OFF ALIVE Single & Video with SODEH Records! Better Off Alive is about raising awareness of these serious concerns in our society and highlighting the available resources in our communities to those in need.

The additional focus on our military service members in the video hits close to home. With one of our band members being a veteran, we found it especially important to shine a light on issues with PTSD, depression, and suicide in our military communities. “Better Off Alive” finds us taking our songwriting and production to the next level.

With powerful riffs, big melodic hooks, and driving drum and bass, the single defines our band as a force to be reckoned with in the modern rock scene. “You my friend, you’re worth it in the end.” Don’t give it all away and find that you truly are “Better Off Alive” with the things you love around you.
